Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorder Training – Part 1 – 2 CEUs

The purpose of this program is to prepare the learner to effectively and safely work with cognitively impaired residents and understand the importance of behavior management.

Alzheimer’s disease, and related disorders, are grouped by the general term “dementia” in these courses. Alzheimer’s is a progressive, devastating disease that starts slowly, and progresses over time to interfere with activities of daily living.

Dementia is the loss of cognitive functioning: thinking, remembering, and reasoning to such an extent that it interferes with every aspect of daily living. Health Professionals must learn to understand all aspects of dementia to better care for their residents.

At the end of this course, the student will understand how to professionally relate to patients with Alzheimer’s.
